El Diablo – a ginger spiced spring delight

The El Diablo (translated to English ‘The Devil’) was created in the early 1940’s, but the original recipe featured brandy. There have been many recipes since then with different combinations of alcohol.

The recipe that follows is from 2008. The iconic yet under-the-radar drink is named after a comic character who originates from Spain. When he gets angry, fire covers his entire body.

Here’s a little spiced spring cocktail, now available on our cocktail menu! Enjoy.

60ml Tequila
20ml Creme de Cassis
30ml Lemon juice
Shaken, then fine-strain into an ice-filled glass, top with ginger beer and garnish.
